# Signal Garden font library

These 46 `.ttf` / `.otf` files (40 source families, 1,309,236 bytes in total)
were copied unchanged from the earlier website's `static/fonts/` directory.
The source's directory names and filenames are preserved. The font binaries
are third-party work and are not covered by this website's MIT license.

`source-manifest.json` is the original 40-family selection manifest.
`source-audit.json` is the original, broader 73-entry audit. It labels 40
entries `safe` and 33 entries `restricted`; the restricted entries' binaries
have not been copied here. Its broad labels (including `100% Free` and
`Public domain / GPL / OFL`) and sometimes truncated notes are historical
source evidence, not a new license grant or a completed verification of
redistribution, embedding, modification, or attribution requirements.

The source notes identify, among others:

- Kiwi Soda, Owre Kynge, and Double Homicide by jeti, with credit requests;
the Double Homicide note names CC BY 4.0.
- Gallaecia Forte by David Calvio, adapting Gallaecia Castelo by Carlos Nuez,
with a note allowing personal and commercial use.
- 8-bit Arcade and Boulder Dash 6128, with notes allowing personal and
commercial use and prohibiting modification or sale.
- XoanVnmexel and Pixelpoiiz, with credit requests in the source notes.

The original `v5bloques/bloques.txt` is included unchanged. It identifies
Roberto Christen / V5 (2002), allows use, prohibits sale, alteration, or
improper credit, and asks users to tell the author where the font is used.
No communication has been sent to any font author by this implementation.
Other complete license files were not present alongside the selected
binaries. Preserve this evidence and resolve each selected font's complete
terms before publishing or redistributing the site.

The CSS uses `SG …` aliases to avoid collisions with the current site's VGA
font. Duplicate source families have distinct aliases (PixelSix 00/14/10,
8-bit Arcade In/Out, V5 Cuadra 2 Standard/Thick, Fractionss QWERTY/AZERTY,
and Slap And Crumbly/Alternate). These aliases do not modify the binaries.
The icon font is available in the library but is not used to add decorative
alphabet filler or interface glyph replacements.

Only fonts and their existing provenance records were imported. The old
site's texture, placeholder content, panel rotations, and decorative labels
are not part of this font-library import.
